Welcome to GreenDuhks - The Duhks Sustainability Project

The Duhks (pronounced like "ducks") are a 5-member Canadian group that seamlessly blend Gospel, Celtic, Old time, Zydeco, Country, Latin, French-Canadian and sheer Rock & Roll.

In the 7 years that they've been together, their unique sound has earned them a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Country Vocal Performance by a Group or Duo category, one Juno Award, three additional Juno nominations, two Folk Alliance awards, and an Americana Music Association nomination for Best Emerging Artists.

As they have become more aware of the impact that constant touring has on the Earth, The Duhks have adapted a more conscious touring plan. Having released their newest album, Fast Paced World on recycled paper with soy-based ink, the band also tours on Biodiesel as much as possible, recycles and uses Kleen Kanteens and Sigg water bottles, is selling sweatshop-free organic cotton Tshirts & hoodies, offsets their carbon emmisions, and requests local, organic food on their rider.

The Duhks are partnered with several fantastic organizations:

Cliffbar's GreenNotes Program
Rock The Earth
Manitoba Harvest
Bioneers
Carbonfund.org
Bogo lights
Indie 103.1

With their new album, entitled "Fast Paced World", released 19 August 2008, The Duhks are hitting the road harder than ever, playing major festivals all over North America and Europe this fall and winter.

Through performance and multimedia, they hope to raise awareness about ways to live a more economically viable and ecologically sustainable lifestyle, with a special emphasis on biodiesel and local environmental organizations in a town near you!

The Duhks aim to reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible, switch to renewables whenever possible, and offset what is left over.

Reduce. Renew. Offset.
